Match Notes

The procedure for classifiers is as follows: You are to shoot the classifier the first time for match score period.  There is no practicing the stage before you shoot for match score period.  You must turn in all score sheets prior to getting another classifier score sheet.  Failure to do this will incur rule 10.6.1  Also you must see a match director before any reshoot is allowed period.

Practical President.

Let's have some Courtesy

Lately I have noticed, or it has been brought to my attention, that there are many inconsistencies in ROing and scoring of stages at the monthly matches.  We need to encourage competitors to follow and apply the rules set by USPSA and the Club.  In order to do that and make the matches fair for all competitors, please do not take the clock or board unless you have a good understanding of the rules and range commands.  If you would like to learn the rules and range commands, please contact any match director or certified RO and we would be happy to help you in any way we can.  There are plenty of well versed, qualified USPSA shooters and ROs available every match to help you if you need anything.  So…..if you don’t know the rules, please don’t run the clock.

I have also noticed, and am now starting to get way too many complaints, that competitors are being spectators and not participating in re-setting the stages for the next shooter.  This applies to taping, re-setting steel and picking up brass.  You know who you are.  We all want to shoot and in order to do that; we need to re-set the stage.  Please, when your name is called, do your job!  If an RO or match director notices that you continue to ignore the request to help, your scorecard will be placed on the bottom and you will get another chance to do your job.

Additionally, due to the actions of a few inconsiderate people at the range there will be no more practice, function firing, chronographing, etc. of any kind without the match director’s approval or until the match is completely finished and torn down.  The incident that ruined this for everyone happened today where someone “practiced” on the classifier stage and left 50 plus holes in the targets without resetting it while the match was still in progress.

This applies to all pistol matches held at Rio Salado Sportsman’s Club.

Any questions please contact Paul Caudill or me.

Thank you for your support,

Brian Williamson

 USPSA Nationals Slots

The slots earned for the AZ Real Section generally arrive in March, are processed, and then passed out to those that earned them.  We have a very limited number of slots for both the Open/L10 and Limited/Prod/Rev national championship matches.  If you are contacted, please respond as quickly as possible so that the next in line can get their chance if you do not need or want your slot.

The qualifications for earning a AZ Real Section slot are:

1)  Must be a member of both USPSA and Rio Salado Sportsman's Club for the previous calendar year.

2)  All scores from the previous calendar year are tabulated and you are ranked by your best 5 scores.  Ties are resolved by the higher number of matches shot.

3)  You must have shot at least 5 matches in that division at the regularly held weekend matches of UPPL, RSPP, RMAP, or Hosemasters.
